A new chapter is about to start in our close relationship with Pinetum Gardens, St Austell.
Nigel has, over the past two years, been providing the gardens with a series of outdoor sculptures, prompting their ‘Hidden Gardeners Trail’. These steel sculptures depict a variety of animals and insects, up to more than ten times their usual size, who populate these amazing gardens, helping to make them so beautiful.
The Garden owner Chang Li has now offered Nigel the opportunity to display more of his work in the cafe and garden shop. Be on the look out for wall hanging sculptures on the cafe walls and a brand new exhibit in the shop, the star of which will be a huge Brown trout leaping out of the water to catch a dragonfly… Look out ‘It’s Behind You’!!
Chang Li is a huge supporter of Cornish Craftsmen and women, he has also offered his courtyard barn as a venue for an ‘Artisan Metal Workers Demonstration day’. Hot forging, cold forging, Coppersmithing and Silversmithing will be represented at this unique event – who knows this could be the first of many such demonstration days for other specialists and craftsmen and women to showcase their skills… the possibilities are endless… so stay tuned for a date to be confirmed…
